Martyn's Law Readiness

Helping venues prepare for Martyn's Law

Entri helps venue operators put the access controls, audit trails, and staff workflows in place that Martyn's Law readiness demands. We support your preparedness โ€” your legal compliance team advises on the law itself.

The context

What Martyn's Law means for venues

Martyn's Law (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act) places a legal duty on certain venues and events to have documented protective security measures in place. Venues meeting specified capacity thresholds must demonstrate that access controls, staff procedures, and security workflows are operational and evidenced.

Operators are already acting โ€” the question is whether your current systems can evidence the controls the law will require. Entri gives you that evidence layer, built into your day-to-day entry operations.

How Entri helps

Operationalising your access control

Entri doesn't replace your security team โ€” it gives them the tools and evidence trail that Martyn's Law readiness programmes need.

๐Ÿšช

Controlled Access

Every entry is logged against a verified identity. Know exactly who was admitted at each entrance point, and when โ€” in real time.

๐Ÿ“‹

Audit Trail

Access logs are immutable and ready to export for compliance review, insurance, or incident investigation. No extra work required.

๐Ÿ‘ท

Staff-Friendly Workflows

A clear, repeatable entry process your team can follow consistently โ€” at every event, every entrance point, with no specialist training needed.

๐Ÿงช

Pilot-Friendly Setup

Start with one entrance and one event. Minimal configuration, no full deployment required. Review the logs and decide how to scale from there.

Our position on Martyn's Law

We don't make legal compliance claims โ€” that's your legal team's job. What we do is give you the operational infrastructure that makes compliance possible and demonstrable.

๐Ÿš€

Run the event, generate logs

Entri logs every entry with identity verification and a timestamp. Your staff follow a clear, repeatable workflow. No extra overhead.

Step 03
๐Ÿ“‹

Review your audit trail

After the event, download the full access log and attendance report. Review the workflow with your team and decide how to scale.

Workflow for Attendees

From sign-up to entry in three steps

Entri replaces the entire ticketing and access control workflow with a seamless, identity-first experience.

01
๐Ÿคณ

Verify Identity

The attendee uploads a government-issued ID and takes a live selfie. Entri checks that the person matches the ID before access is granted โ€” creating a verified, named record for each attendee.

Issue or Link Entry Access

A ticket is issued and linked directly to the attendee's verified identity. It cannot be transferred or used by anyone else โ€” every ticket maps to a real, confirmed person.

Scan and Log Entry at the Venue

At the gate, Entri matches the attendee against their verified record and logs the entry with a timestamp. Staff see a clear workflow, and every admission is automatically recorded in the audit trail.

FAQ

Common questions, answered

Everything you need to know before deploying Entri at your venue.

How does face verification work?โ–พ
At signup, the attendee uploads a government-issued ID and takes a live selfie. Entri uses dlib to extract 128-dimensional face encodings from both images and computes the Euclidean distance. A distance below 0.6 confirms a match. Liveness detection ensures the selfie is taken in real time, preventing photo spoofing.
What stops someone from using a printed photo to spoof the system?โ–พ
Entri's liveness detection flags static images by analysing natural micro-movements and eye blink patterns during the capture window. Additionally, the gate-scan compares the live face against the stored verified encoding -- not a stored photo -- making it significantly harder to spoof with printed materials.
Can an attendee transfer their ticket to another person?โ–พ
No. Every ticket is cryptographically hashed and anchored to the identity of the person who purchased it. The hash incorporates the attendee's verified face encoding, meaning the ticket is biometrically locked. Even if a QR code were shared, the face at the gate would not match and entry would be denied.
Is biometric data stored on the cloud or third-party servers?โ–พ
No. Entri is designed for on-premise deployment. All face encodings, ID photos, and live selfies are stored on your own infrastructure. No biometric data is sent to third-party cloud services. You own your data entirely.
What hardware is needed at the entry gate?โ–พ
Any device with a standard webcam or IP camera running a browser with access to the Entri organiser dashboard. No dedicated hardware is required. A laptop or tablet at each gate is sufficient for most venues. For high-volume entry points, Entri's API supports integration with purpose-built camera kiosks.
